Cliffhanger Villas, Casa La Vereda

A recent trip to Andalucia to photograph two properties enabled us to escape the English weather and view some of the most beautiful surroundings. We had a straighforward journey from Bournemouth airport, just ten minutes drive from home and a good flight into Malaga where we picked up our hire car. After a brief stop at Eroski supermarket for supervisions we were soon winding our way into beautiful mountain scenery before arriving at our destination, Casa La Vereda in Los Ventoros, near Comares. The shot below was one of the initial photos taken on the first morning - the name of the villa has been painted onto a large stone so it seemed a good starting point for our photo journal. The morning light was very soft and the splash of red you see behind are wild geraniums. Here are a few samples from our week away:

Tha hammock (below) was popular for reading under the shade of the Carob Tree.

Busy at work around the villa; bougainvillea on the terrace (above left), the photographer with reflector and mini softbox in use (above right), the new dining room table is laid up for lunch (below).... and a photo or two.
La Vereda has a number of peaceful terraces. We had plenty of options for wining and dining or simply escaping the afternoon heat! The kitchen terrace (below) was used the most - probably due to its close proximity to the kitchen.

These two photos (above) were both taken outside the master bedroom, a great place to enjoy the late afternoon sun and not least a bottle of Rioja and nibbles (above right). One of the first things you see at the villa is the swimming pool (below) - ever so pretty and inviting after the journey. I did end up with a few scratches attempting to get the best position! The final two were taken in the late evening. The lighting around the pool and from the bar area creates a wonderful ambience.

I hope you have enjoyed reading the post and looking at our images. It was a privilege to photograph these magnificent properties in a lovely part of the world. The peacefulness is hard to capture on camera although it remains firmly in my mind. If you would like to find out more about the properties you can view more of our photos on the website.
